Ela cont\u00e9m todo o evangelho e a ess\u00eancia da alian\u00e7a da gra\u00e7a. Em grande parte, esta promessa j\u00e1 se cumpriu. O descendente da mulher, o pr\u00f3prio Senhor Jesus, foi ferido em seu calcanhar; e qu\u00e3o terr\u00edvel foi a ferida! No entanto, qu\u00e3o mais terr\u00edvel ser\u00e1 o golpe final na cabe\u00e7a da serpente! Isto j\u00e1 aconteceu parcialmente, quando nosso Senhor levou sobre Si o pecado, venceu a morte e destruiu o poder de Satan\u00e1s. No entanto, esta promessa ainda espera um cumprimento mais completo na segunda vinda de nosso Senhor e no Dia do Ju\u00edzo. Esta promessa permanece para n\u00f3s como uma profecia de que seremos afligidos pelos poderes malignos em nossa natureza interior e, deste modo, feridos em nosso calcanhar. Mas triunfaremos em Cristo, que p\u00f4s os seus p\u00e9s sobre a cabe\u00e7a da antiga serpente. Durante todo o ano, teremos de aprender, por experi\u00eancia pr\u00f3pria, a primeira parte desta promessa, atrav\u00e9s das tenta\u00e7\u00f5es do Maligno e da insensibilidade de muitos \u00edmpios que s\u00e3o descendentes dele. Eles nos ferir\u00e3o de tal maneira que coxearemos, tendo os nossos calcanhares machucados; por\u00e9m, apeguemo-nos \u00e0 segunda parte da promessa e n\u00e3o desanimaremos.
