Procurando desenvolver o dom que Deus lhe dera, trabalhou firme para a edifica\u00e7\u00e3o da igreja de Cristo. Muitos dos seus hinos ficaram bem conhecidos, tendo entre eles 62 que foram inclu\u00eddos no hin\u00e1rio batista de 1769. Conhe\u00e7a a letra de um desses hinos e analise conosco a profundidade das palavras escritas por essa serva de Deus:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No \u00faltimo m\u00eas de setembro, fiz uma caminhada num dia chuvoso de Salisbury, Inglaterra, at\u00e9 a cidade pr\u00f3xima de Broughton, Hampshire \u2013 uma cidade localizada praticamente no meio do caminho entre Salisbury e Winchester, onde fiquei por um tempo observando uma casa, uma capela e um t\u00famulo. Todos eles associados \u00e0 Anne Steele (1717-78), a filha de William Steele, o pastor de uma igreja batista calvinista, cujos hinos eram conhecidos pelos amantes do evangelho no mundo todo. Convertida em 1732 e batizada no mesmo ano, ela foi criada para ser uma mulher de piedade profunda, alegria genu\u00edna e uma mente faminta pelo conhecimento. A piedade dela foi forjada na fornalha da afli\u00e7\u00e3o. Ela teve lutas na maior parte de sua vida adulta, ao que parece, com ataques cont\u00ednuos de mal\u00e1ria ter\u00e7\u00e3 e dor de est\u00f4mago terr\u00edveis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>O celibato de Anne deu a ela tempo para dedicar-se \u00e0 escrita de poesias e hinos, um dom com o qual o Senhor a aben\u00e7oou ricamente. Cerca de dez anos antes da sua morte, sessenta e dois de seus hinos foram publicados em um hin\u00e1rio batista \u2013\u00a0<em>A Collection of Hyms Adapted to Public Worship<\/em>\u00a0(1769) [Uma Cole\u00e7\u00e3o de Hinos Adaptados \u00e0 Adora\u00e7\u00e3o P\u00fablica] \u2013 editado por John Ash e Caleb Evans. Esse hin\u00e1rio deu aos hinos de Anne uma ampla circula\u00e7\u00e3o nos grupos batistas. Em certo tempo, os seus hinos tornaram-se t\u00e3o conhecidos quanto os de Isaac Watts, John Newton e William Cowper.<\/p>\n<p>Um dos poucos hinos de Steele que ainda s\u00e3o cantados hoje revela como a ampla circula\u00e7\u00e3o dos mesmos tiveram participa\u00e7\u00e3o na revitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1reas da igreja batista calvinista em toda a Inglaterra. Originalmente intitulado \u201cO Convite do Salvador\u201d, o hino tinha como base as palavras de Jesus em Jo\u00e3o 7:37: \u201cSe algu\u00e9m tem sede, venha a mim e beba\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>O Salvador chama \u2013 que cada ouvido responda ao som do c\u00e9u.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00d3 almas duvidosas, mandem o medo embora, a Esperan\u00e7a sorri e revive.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Para cada cora\u00e7\u00e3o sedento e desejoso, fluem correntes de generosidade.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>E Vida, e Cura, e Felicidade concede, para banir a ang\u00fastia mortal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Aqui, nascem as fontes do sagrado Prazer para aliviar todas as suas dores.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>(Fonte Imortal!
