Ter f\u00e9 \u00e9 ser ignorante, como alguns afirmam? Ou ser\u00e1 que a f\u00e9 e raz\u00e3o podem andar juntos? Leia o artigo a seguir e aprenda mais:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Diz-se que quem define os termos, vence o debate. Os c\u00e9ticos sabem disso e tiram vantagem. Observe uma das famosas defini\u00e7\u00f5es de \u201cf\u00e9\u201d fornecidas por incr\u00e9dulos. Mark Twain, por exemplo, brincou: \u201cf\u00e9 \u00e9 crer no que voc\u00ea sabe que n\u00e3o \u00e9 verdade\u201d. Mais pr\u00f3ximo aos nossos dias, o escritor ateu Sam Harris definiu f\u00e9 como \u201ca desculpa que pessoas religiosas d\u00e3o a si mesmas para continuarem acreditando quando as raz\u00f5es falham\u201d. Richard Dawkins, talvez o mais famoso ateu da nossa gera\u00e7\u00e3o, afirma: \u201cf\u00e9 \u00e9 o grande escape, a grande desculpa para fugir da necessidade de pensar e avaliar a evid\u00eancia. F\u00e9 \u00e9 a cren\u00e7a a despeito, ou at\u00e9 talvez por causa, da falta de evid\u00eancia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A \u00fanica coisa que todas essas defini\u00e7\u00f5es t\u00eam em comum \u00e9 a, expl\u00edcita ou impl\u00edcita, ideia de que a f\u00e9 est\u00e1 em conflito com a raz\u00e3o. Infelizmente, alguns crist\u00e3os na hist\u00f3ria da igreja disseram coisas que deram suporte a essa vis\u00e3o de rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre f\u00e9 e raz\u00e3o. Martinho Lutero, por exemplo, fez declara\u00e7\u00f5es negativas muito pesadas sobre a raz\u00e3o, muitas das quais s\u00e3o citadas por c\u00e9ticos em suas tentativas de provar que o cristianismo \u00e9 inerentemente irracional. Lutero chamou a raz\u00e3o de \u201ca maior meretriz do Diabo\u201d. Ele disse em diversos contextos diferentes que a raz\u00e3o deveria ser destru\u00edda. O contexto \u00e9 crucial, porque nessas situa\u00e7\u00f5es Lutero estava falando sobre a arbitrariedade da raz\u00e3o humana sozinha de discernir coisas divinas. Ainda assim, sua tend\u00eancia \u00e0 hip\u00e9rbole passou a bola para os c\u00e9ticos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A maior parte da discuss\u00e3o contempor\u00e2nea sobre o suposto conflito entre f\u00e9 e raz\u00e3o surgiu no contexto de discuss\u00f5es a respeito de ci\u00eancia e religi\u00e3o. Limita\u00e7\u00f5es espaciais impedem uma discuss\u00e3o completa sobre essa quest\u00e3o, mas alguns pontos gerais devem ser avaliados para nos ajudar a entender como pensar sobre quaisquer supostos conflitos que venham surgir. Em primeiro lugar, devemos reconhecer com Agostinho, Jo\u00e3o Calvino e muitos outros que toda verdade \u00e9 verdade de Deus.
