Um Jesus amoroso realmente ensinaria sobre o inferno? Sim, e assim tamb\u00e9m o faz todo autor do Novo Testamento. Consideremos o que eles ensinam.<\/p>\n

O inferno em Mateus<\/strong><\/p>\n

No Serm\u00e3o do Monte, frequentemente conhecido por sua \u00eanfase no amor e no reino, Jesus ensina a realidade e a natureza do inferno (5.50-30; 7.13-27). Em Mateus 5.20-30, Jesus contrasta o inferno com o reino de Deus e adverte que o inferno \u00e9 um perigo real para pecadores impenitentes. O fogo do inferno, a justi\u00e7a do inferno e o extremo sofrimento no inferno s\u00e3o especialmente enfatizados. Os impenitentes s\u00e3o advertidos a usarem medidas extremas para evitarem ser lan\u00e7ados l\u00e1 por Deus.<\/p>\n

Conforme Jesus conclui o Serm\u00e3o do Monte, ele contrasta o reino do c\u00e9u com os horrores do inferno (7.13-27). Jesus avisa que o inferno \u00e9 um lugar de destrui\u00e7\u00e3o, descrito como o fim de um caminho largo. O inferno aguarda a cada um que n\u00e3o entra no reino dos c\u00e9us \u2014 mesmo aqueles que professam conhecer Cristo mas continuam no pecado. Jesus \u00e9 o Juiz e Rei que pessoalmente exclui os perversos de sua presen\u00e7a e do reino dos c\u00e9us (\u201cApartai-vos de mim\u201d, 7.23). De fato, aqueles que falham em seguir a Jesus s\u00e3o como uma casa constru\u00edda sobre a areia que, no fim, acaba desmoronando.<\/p>\n

Mateus reconta tamb\u00e9m o surpreendente aviso de Jesus de que os judeus desprovidos de f\u00e9 sofrem o perigo de ir para o inferno, que \u00e9 retratado como as trevas exteriores e um lugar de intenso sofrimento (8.10-12). Jesus fala do inferno quando envia seus disc\u00edpulos dizendo que eles n\u00e3o deveriam temer o homem, mas apenas Deus, \u201cque pode fazer perecer no inferno tanto a alma como o corpo\u201d (10.28). Nas par\u00e1bolas de Jesus sobre o joio do campo (13.36-43) e sobre a rede (vv. 47-50), o inferno \u00e9 visto como uma exclus\u00e3o ou separa\u00e7\u00e3o do reino de Deus, descrito em termos de fogo e um lugar de sofrimento. Mais tarde, jesus descreve o inferno como um lugar de \u201cfogo eterno\u201d (18.8) e at\u00e9 mesmo adverte os escribas e fariseus a respeito do inferno, caracterizando-o como inescap\u00e1vel para o impenitente (23.33).<\/p>\n

No Serm\u00e3o Prof\u00e9tico, Jesus fala do castigo futuro nas par\u00e1bolas dos servos bom e mau (24.45-51), das virgens (25.1-13), dos talentos (25.14-30) e no trecho das ovelhas e dos cabritos (25.31-46). V\u00e1rias verdades a respeito do inferno emergem. O inferno \u00e9 castigo pela desobedi\u00eancia ao mestre. O inferno \u00e9 expresso visualmente como um lugar onde as pessoas s\u00e3o cortadas em peda\u00e7os e colocadas junto aos hip\u00f3critas (24.51) e tamb\u00e9m como um lugar de sofrimento (24.51; 25.30). Jesus tamb\u00e9m aponta para a semelhan\u00e7a do inferno com um lugar exterior, ou um lugar de exclus\u00e3o ou separa\u00e7\u00e3o (25.10-12, 30), como as trevas exteriores (v. 30), como ele mesmo banindo pessoas de sua presen\u00e7a e do reino (\u201cApartai-vos de mim\u201d, v. 41), e como simplesmente condena\u00e7\u00e3o ou castigo (vv. 41, 46). O inferno \u00e9, ent\u00e3o, descrito como eterno. \u00c9 um lugar de \u201cfogo eterno, preparado para o diabo e seus anjos\u201d (v. 41) e de \u201ccastigo eterno\u201d (v. 46).<\/p>\n
