No sexto dia, o homem foi comissionado por Deus a encher a terra e sujeit\u00e1-la, e a dominar sobre as criaturas (G\u00eanesis 1.28). Por conseguinte, pode-se corretamente definir a Grande Comiss\u00e3o como \u201cdominar e sujeitar\u201d a terra e suas criaturas \u2013 um entendimento que n\u00f3s precisaremos elaborar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na verdade, a express\u00e3o \u201cdominar e sujeitar\u201d tem conota\u00e7\u00f5es profundamente negativas em nosso mundo moderno, mergulhado como ele est\u00e1 em mem\u00f3rias de horrendas tiranias e de abuso de poder. N\u00e3o obstante, n\u00f3s dever\u00edamos observar que essa comiss\u00e3o foi dada <em>antes<\/em>da decad\u00eancia no pecado e mis\u00e9ria, precisamente no contexto do homem em uni\u00e3o com Deus \u2013 isto \u00e9, foi dada ao homem como portador da imagem de Deus (v. 26), criado tanto para andar com Deus como para mediar o bendito reino de Deus sobre toda a terra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A teologia aqui tem dois aspectos. Ad\u00e3o deve congregar toda a cria\u00e7\u00e3o ao s\u00e9timo dia para louvar e adorar a Deus \u2013 isso \u00e9 o que significa \u201cdominar e sujeitar\u201d. Ele est\u00e1 incumbido de separar (\u201csantificar\u201d) progressivamente a cria\u00e7\u00e3o, at\u00e9 que toda a terra seja santa, cheia da gl\u00f3ria sempiterna de Deus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Segundo, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 nenhuma b\u00ean\u00e7\u00e3o a ser desfrutada, por menor que seja, que n\u00e3o proceda do reino de Deus \u2013 essa \u00e9 alegria do que significa \u201cestar sujeito\u201d, especialmente depois da expuls\u00e3o da vida com Deus. Por essa raz\u00e3o, n\u00f3s alegremente ensinamos nossos filhos que Cristo executa o of\u00edcio de rei \u201csujeitando-nos a si mesmo\u201d (Breve Catecismo de Westminster, P&amp;R 26).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Grande Comiss\u00e3o dada a Ad\u00e3o exigia que o seu reinado estivesse a servi\u00e7o de seu of\u00edcio sacerdotal, isto \u00e9, que ele \u201cdominasse e sujeitasse\u201d a fim de congregar toda a cria\u00e7\u00e3o aos p\u00e9s do Criador, em adora\u00e7\u00e3o. A consuma\u00e7\u00e3o do dia do descanso era o cora\u00e7\u00e3o e o alvo da comiss\u00e3o dada no sexto dia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uma vez que entendemos a Grande Comiss\u00e3o em fun\u00e7\u00e3o do reinado, estamos em melhores condi\u00e7\u00f5es de avaliar esse projeto ao longo do resto do Antigo Testamento.
