Ser pobre n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas carecer de propriedade e riqueza tang\u00edvel. Implica priva\u00e7\u00e3o em um sentido mais amplo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O Salmo 10 ilustra o ponto. O perverso que n\u00e3o cr\u00ea em Deus (vv. 3-4) parece ser pr\u00f3spero, inabal\u00e1vel, n\u00e3o atingido pela adversidade (vv. 5-6). O homem perverso agride o inocente com impunidade (v. 8), e \u201cseus olhos espreitam o desamparado\u201d (v. 8b). Essa \u00faltima frase pode significar simplesmente que os perversos procuram uma oportunidade de tirar vantagem do pobre, mas dadas as conota\u00e7\u00f5es de \u201colhos\u201d na Escritura, ela pode ter uma conota\u00e7\u00e3o mais espec\u00edfica, judicial. O \u00edmpio tem poder de torcer a lei a seu favor, contra o pobre. O salmo o compara a um le\u00e3o esperando pela presa, abaixando-se, encurvando-se e, por fim, arremetendo-se contra o aflito (vv. 9-10), o tempo todo dizendo que Deus n\u00e3o vai ver nem julgar o que ele fez (v. 11).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A ora\u00e7\u00e3o do salmista n\u00e3o \u00e9 que o Senhor faria o pobre rico, mas que Ele se lembraria e <em>defenderia<\/em> o aflito, afirmando-se como o \u201cdefensor do \u00f3rf\u00e3o\u201d, que se compromete ao Senhor (vv. 12-14). O que o pobre precisa n\u00e3o \u00e9 de esmola, mas de resgate. Ele procura o Senhor para \u201cquebrantar o bra\u00e7o do perverso e do malvado\u201d (v. 15).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Por todo o Salmo, a disparidade entre o perverso e o \u201cpobre\u201d \u00e9 uma disparidade de <em>poder<\/em>. E, provavelmente, tamb\u00e9m uma disparidade de riqueza. O perverso tem \u201cpoderosos\u201d que executam seus planos contra o vulner\u00e1vel (v. 10); ele tem uma comitiva, e \u00e9 capaz de mant\u00ea-los por perto, pois pode pag\u00e1-los. Mas a disparidade de riqueza \u00e9 relevante aqui porque a riqueza \u00e9 uma forma de poder. (Dostoi\u00e9vski chamou o dinheiro de \u201cliberdade cunhada\u201d; \u00e9, tamb\u00e9m, \u201cpoder cunhado\u201d.) O perverso pode se dar ao luxo de contratar assassinos e subornar policiais e ju\u00edzes; o pobre n\u00e3o tem os recursos para conseguir a defesa mais b\u00e1sica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A pobreza tamb\u00e9m parece ser priva\u00e7\u00e3o social. O \u00f3rf\u00e3o n\u00e3o tem pais para proteg\u00ea-lo, e o pobre no Salmo est\u00e1 isolado e sozinho. Se ele tivesse advogados e defensores, grupos e rede de amigos, ele n\u00e3o seria t\u00e3o vulner\u00e1vel. Ele podia defender-se dos bandidos; ele podia achar algu\u00e9m mais poderoso para defend\u00ea-lo. Ele possui apenas uma defesa, o Rei que vindica o \u00f3rf\u00e3o e o oprimido (vv. 16-18), que d\u00e1 a seguran\u00e7a pela qual o pobre espera (Salmo 12.5).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O Salmo nos exorta \u00e0 f\u00e9, mas tamb\u00e9m sugere um paradigma para o trabalho de assist\u00eancia. O que os pobres precisam, seguramente, n\u00e3o \u00e9 de dinheiro propriamente dito, nem de riqueza para que possam se tornar bons consumidores na economia global. Eles precisam de poder, o poder que vem atrav\u00e9s das redes de relacionamentos, dos advogados, da prote\u00e7\u00e3o legal.
